“False transport” is probably the greatest risk posed by clinical trials, yet it has received little attention. This issue is not going away and CONSORT will need to confront the fact that trials which pass this checklist can produce false transport and patient harm at worldwide scale.
Here is a discussion of false transport. While some of this is redundant of material I published here, the risk of false transport is not widely known outside this forum.
This preprint and subsequent articles will bring this issue to the forefront. As usual it would be great to generate discussion here but the preprint was written for clinicians because it is we who have to timely solve this design problem as it has historically generated little interest in the DT community.
