Paper and commentaries for "On the Uses and Abuses of Regression Models: A Call for Reform of Statistical Practice and Teaching"

There was some discussion on another thread referring to this paper by Shmueli “To Explain or to Predict?” on the different uses of modelling:

This reminded me of this recent paper by John Carlin and Margarita Moreno-Betancur which covers the topic:

I thought I’d share this here: IMO this is a very useful paper for discussing the concept of different uses of regression models with non-statistician health researchers.

This has an accompanying commentary from several other statisticians (which I’ve only just found this morning, so the following is a bit of a link-fiesta, and I may post some comments another day when I’ve digested)
